Mercy College, one of the pioneer educational institution was started in 1977 at Vadakara, Kozhikode District with a vision and motto of imparting quality education to those who did not have an opportunity to study in affiliated colleges.
When Mercy College started its first step towards the hunt and sharing of knowledge, there were only few courses in hand like BA History, BA Economics, B.Com, MA English and MA History.
Our commitment and sincerity to our students proved to be great success and the response from the society was wonderful.
The energy we received from the inspiration and support of our outgone students and their parents enabled us to spread our wings further. In 1984 B.Sc Maths course was included under our umbrella in all others branches.
Further in her journey, Mercy College grew slowly with addition of more and more PG courses in the year 2000.
We believed more in the strength of love and gratitude of our outgone as well as current students than the commercial advertisement.
It proved to be true in the course of time that our students themselves are our advertisement who are working successfully in many MNCs like Infosys, HCL, HP, Adidas, Wipro, several banks like ICICI, HDFC, AXIS Bank, SBI etc.
Just to have a look back to the growth and development Mercy College achieved all these years,the first expansion process started in 1999 at Eranhipalam, Kozhikode (Dist) with many diversified courses opening opportunities to all aspiring students to develop their career.
2003 was a great year for Mercy College with its expanded functioning of different branches in Guruvayur, Thrissur (Dist) and Cheruvannur, Perambra, Kallachi in Kozhikode district.
Mercy College honored many times adding more golden feather to her head as many of our students scored very high marks in different university examinations.
As Mercy College grew, she never ignore the importance of developing other curriculum activities and potentials of our students.
Our students participated in several arts festival especially in Parallel College Arts Festival and bagged many prizes.
Mercy colleges conducted in several meets like Inter Mercy Cricket / Inter Mercy Football / Inter Mercy Chess / Inter Mercy Quiz / Inter Mercy Badminton and Inter Mercy Arts Fest also.
Contrary to the statement of “too many cooks spoil the dish”, Mercy grew with diversified vision and motto ensuring the improvement of quality in service and education also never forgetting her social responsibility.
At present Mercy College is providing different courses from different universities like Calicut University / Kerala University / Sikkim Manipal University / Bharathiar University/ Madurai Kamaraj University / Annamalai University.
With the intention of giving opportunities to those who lost chances in their prime time for education, Higher Secondary (Kerala State Open School +1 and +2 Science, Humanities, Commerce) was started.
We have Kerala Government approved computer courses under C-DIT(CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF IMAGING TECHNOLOGY) and its chairman is our honorable chief minister.
C-DIT courses are PSC approved.
Mercy College at present proudly offer professional courses like MBA, MCA, MSc. IT, MAJM, BBA, BCA, BSc IT, BAJM etc. Many reputed professionals are in our student’s roaster learning and improving their skills and qualifications.\
One of our added strength is that now we are also providing placement assistance to our students as we are having tie-up with many leading companies in the market.
One of our branch Mercy Institute of Technology, Guruvayur achieved the “Best Learning Centre Award” of Sikkim Manipal University in the year 2009 from Dr. Anand Sudharshan, CEO of Manipal Education in national convention held at Mysore.
Also we got “The Best Performance Award” in the year 2010 in the LC meet held at Bangalore from Mr. Thimmiya Vice-President of Sikkim Manipal University
